The
Diploma in Business is designed to introduce students to
a wide range of business disciplines at a higher level
of study. The program includes aspects of finance,
marketing and management to facilitate an understanding
of the role of business in today's commercial world. It
is roughly equivalent to year 1 of an undergraduate
degree. The Advanced Diploma in Business is designed to
further develop skills and knowledge in business,
finance, marketing and management and prepare students
for entry to year 2 or 3 of a business or finance
undergraduate degree. The AEC Edu Group ensures that all

Requirement |
|
For
entry to the Diploma in Business: GCE ‘A’ levels or 5
GCE O’ Level credits (including English and mathematics)
or year 12 of school education or the AEC Degree
Foundation or equivalent and have English language of at
least IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (for non-English speaking
countries). Students seeking entry to the Advanced
Diploma in Business are expected to have completed the
JWC Diploma in Business or equivalent and have English
language of at least 6.0 or equivalent (for non-English
speaking countries). |

a standard contract with AEC Business School. Students

Placement Test unless a TOFEL or IELTS result is

The
program aims to train, coach and impart skills to
students to perform roles in the Hospitality Industry.

you get to meet important and celebrity guests. It is
also down-to-earth as you meet all kinds of guests and

Travel and Tourism involve the sharing of customs,

module taken. The assessment of each subject will be
based on 60% for final exam and 40% for presentations
and projects.
Assessments are set by the designated lecturer and
subject to moderation by the Academic Board. |

further study in the Higher National Diploma (HND) in

degree programs in the UK.

The MBA
program is one of the prestigious programs offered by
the Birmingham Business School. The program is taught in
the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mauritius and is fully
accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the
European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). You must
take a total of 8 modules of which 5 modules are core
and compulsory. 3 electives may be chosen from a further
5 modules. Each module is designed to ensure that you
are exposed to both the operational and the strategic
aspects of management disciplines through the use of
modern teaching methods. These include- action learning/
research, formal and 'live' case studies and computer
assisted learning, and complement conventional lectures
and seminars. As this is a classroom-based program, not
distance learning, you are required to attend the
intensive teaching periods. You are free to choose the
number of modules you take in a year, but normally a
minimum of two is expected. The program is taught by
faculty members of the University of Birmingham. |

Information |

Modules
are taught intensively over an eleven-day period: on
weekday evenings and weekends for a total of 45 contact
hours per module. All taught modules are assessed by
coursework (50%) and a final examination (50%). All
examinations are conducted at the beginning of the
following module, normally about 8-10 weeks after the
intensive teaching. Modules must be taken one after the
other i.e. you will not be allowed to take 2 modules at
any one sitting. You must fully complete a module before
going on to the next one. The norm is to take 4 modules
a year. On completion of all 8 modules, you will be
required to submit a 10,000 - 12,000 words dissertation
under the guidance of a personal supervisor. |
